What guests loved the most

“The rooms are big and traditional, also they give you these robes that are really close to Kimono so you can wander around the hotel and feel a little japanese. The Onsen is perfect and the staff... so nice!”

, New Zealand

“Great onset and location is good for access to train station and shuttle buses”

, Australia

“I loved the traditional Japanese style rooms with tatami and all the sliding doors! The size of the room was huge. My room could have easily slept 6 people comfortably, much less by myself. The bed rolls were surprisingly comfortable and the down comforter was very fluffy and warm. The staff was very friendly and spoke pretty good English at the front desk, which is a bonus.”

, Taiwan

“The rooms were very spacious and well maintained, though the bathroom area was a bit cramped. It's very narrow and we spent time waiting for each person to finish up. Thankfully with the onsens on site we didn't need use the showers. Two onsens! Both are lovely and we visited them daily. The buffet in the restaurant was good but would likely get repetitive after four days or so. It's very convenient to ship bags ahead and store them before and after checkout. There are free, self-serve lockers in the lobby that are so much better than leaving bags with a bell hop. We skiied before check-in and and after checking out and always had access to our things. It was a great set-up that other hotels should duplicate.”

, Japan

“Warm friendly staff who are always willing to help. Good breakfast spread. The onsens were great. And we got discounts on our snowboard rental (book early) and ski passes! We booked the larger-sized Japanese style room with a view of the mountains, and it was just fabulous. The only thing is that the futon beds were a tad thin so it's not very comfortable (we have experienced thicker, more comfortable ones in other similar hotels). But all in all, we enjoyed ourselves very much and will most likely stay there again next time we are in Yuzawa!”

, Singapore

“Location from the station is excellent. Free shuttle to Gala Resort and other nearby ski resorts. Very courteous staff.”

, Philippines

“Love the onsen and the traditional bedding. Room was very comfortable.”

, Malaysia

“Couple all the way from Australia, staff speak enough English to help you and the onsen is a fun way towind down after a day on the snow. Highly recommend.”

, Australia

“Everything about this hotel was fantastic! The rooms with the mountain view is beautiful. Staff and service were excellent. They had lockers for luggage storage if needed. Breakfast buffet was delicious. Great location and easy to get to from Tokyo. Shinkansen took one hour from Tokyo to Echigo Yuzawa. 3 minute walk from Echigo Yuzawa station - take west exit out of the station, walk right towards 7/11 (which may be covered in snow, so look good), then the first left up the driveway OR arrange to have a shuttle pick you up at the train station. Snowboard rentals and lift tickets were on site and a good rate. There is a shuttle right outside the rentals that will take you to the mountains (about a 8 minute ride to Gala Yuzawa). Rented out a private onsen (due to tattoos), and was worth every penny. Would definitely stay again.”

, USA

“The outdoor spa. Staff were wonderful, friendly and happy.”
