We also ate every night at the restaurant linked to the hotel - Sloanes - and found this tasty and excellent value for money. We used Wakefield as a base for visiting the Yorkshire Sculpture park, the Hepworth Wakefield and the National Coal Mining Museum. Wakefield itself has some historic buildings - there is a good leaflet about them produced by the Wakefield civic society available from the cathedral shop.”
