“The whole place is just so nice with enough facilities to enjoy and have fun.The restaurant is well designed to be a nice place to chill and relax.The beach in front of the hotel is a nice one, but the waves break too close to the reef and can be too shallow too.The beach also has coral reef for snorkeling but the spot with less waves requires a little walk.During day time the tide can be so low that you can hardly swim, but when the tide is high it makes one hell of a beautiful beach. White sands, and long stretch.The best part about this place for me is Gracie and Chilli. These are 2 resident dogs who are so friendly and fun to be with. Gracie in particular likes to swim in the beach with us. She's a good swimmer and likes to pick up stones and even starfish from the water. She can amazingly do a perfect duck dive. While Chilli likes to accompany us for morning walk. She likes to chase monkeys. With these two around, the whole experience became so different.”

“Amazing place on the beach in a beautiful remote location with a fantastic view on Mt Rinjani! A perfect location for surfing (as well as taking lessons as I did) or just relaxing, with good food and friendly staff. This was by far our favorite place in Indonesia! After staying in multiple hotels around Lombok, we were extremely happy to be at Whales & Waves, where we felt at home away from the crowds. The icing on the cake was certainly the owner's dog, Gracie, which became our loyal companion for the 3 days we spent there and whom we've missed ever since :) Would warmly recommend the hotel to anyone looking for tranquility and/or plenty of outdoor activities.”
