“I was soaking wet as I cycled into the Robertson Arms Hotel as it had rained all day, but this did not worry the staff. They took my wet clothes and shoes from me and dried them overnight (they would have done some washing for me if I had needed it). They offered to bring my bike in overnight too. I was then shown to a small, but comfortable, single room with modern, ensuite shower room. There is nowhere else to dine in Carnwath, but the macaroni cheese that I had was good and the chips were excellent. The enormous bowl of porridge that they gave me for breakfast set me up for the next days cycle to Kinross.”

“The only reason not to rate this the best of our trip was the winner had a view over Cartmell Fell and this was overlooking a road ! There was nothing we did not like in this hotel. Large comfortable room, warm welcome, very helpful and good food.”
