“This was our anniversary and welcome sweets in the room on arrival were a lovely touch. The room was adequate in size for our stay and well appointed. The setting of the old railway and Station Masters house made it magical. The food was good, but our meal taken in the Restaurant was fabulous for presentation and taste.”

“Parking excellent ( great if you are travelling with a dog). Room very comfortable , with lots of storage and well equipped. Lovely housekeeping staff provided wine glasses on request which was very kind and meant we could enjoy a fine glass of rose in our room. Partner thought walls too thin and felt he could hear other occupants. He is nuts ! I thought it very quiet - and even though there were other dogs staying, I was not disturbed by noise - except by a pair of love making owls calling out to each other at 3am one dark night ! The shower room , although tiny , was perfectly adequate. Communal lounge downstairs was a great space for playing games, reading papers etc. Nice wide entrance hall, with places to leave muddy walking boots . All in all , a pretty good weekend. Cannot comment on breakfast at the Hoste as we did not take it.”
