“Wonderful greeting from the two, new, resident managers. Helped us with luggage upstairs. They could not have been more accommodating and I am sure will be a huge success in this role. This is a beautiful, old, 100% kauri home. The suites are beautifully refurbished and tastefully appointed so you can both appreciate the grace of the old home and enjoy modern conveniences. A short walk to shops and bars - Indian cuisine next door. A short drive or moderate walk to Coopers Beach.”
“Jean was so friendly upon arrival. She showed us our room and how it all worked. Mangonui is a hidden gem. Golf courses near by and weather was fine. You will eat the BEST Fish and Chips here, either at the Pub or the Mangonui F&C Shop. (We tried both). The fire alarm went off in the middle of the night so THAT was a shock but no fire!! Management were apologetic.”
“The Old Oak Boutique Hotel was simply luxurious and a very welcoming place to stay. Jean who greeted us on arrival did everything possible to ensure that we had a lovely visit. I must make special mention that she went out of her way to help us as we were on a special family history mission to find an old gravesite on Paewhenua Island and it was no trouble for her to make a phonecall for us to help us get access to it. We were very appreciative of this as it was the whole purpose of our trip to Mangonui. The room that Jean gave us was absolutely lovely - totally comfortable and the old hotel is such an historic building that it was a privilege to stay there.”
