“Overall our stay was excellent, the continental breakfast variety was good and catered for all 9 of us. My husband and I personally found our bed too firm but that's just a personal preference. Those whom rooms were closest to the carpark found the drapes weren't blackout enough for the morning day light. The Lodge was great walking distance to the the 2 pubs”

“We all really enjoyed our stay here. The rooms were warm, spacious, quiet and clean but best of all the staff were amazing! The customer service was exceptional in both the accommodation and the restaurant, nothing was a problem and everything was delivered with a smile. Travelling with children it makes a huge difference when they are made to feel welcome and the staff at The Lodge really seemed to understand this, going out of their way to make our stay enjoyable.”
“The staff were extremely helpful when I phoned in relation to babysitting services. They were also very flexible when we had a last minute change in numbers, which was fantastic. Easy walking distance to all local bars and restaurants. The complimentary continental breakfast in the morning was a good way to keep the kids happy while waiting for the others to wake up!!”

“My stay was at the beginning of the winter season and they had put the heater on in the room in preparation for my arrival. Nice touch. Free WIFI, also a nice touch when so many other places in NZ charge for this. The owners are very friendly and mindful of their guests, they don't just forget about you once you have checked in.”
