What guests loved the most

“Room was lovely and clean, great location and well priced for area.”

, United Kingdom

“Large room & bathroom. Girls on the bar friendly and chatty. Very good, central, location and extensive public parking practically across the street, with hotel parking permit. Quick action when a kettle was requested for the room, instead of the coffee maker.”

, United Kingdom

“Bed was very comfortable and room was clean. Hotel facilities were super, mrestaurant food was very good and reasonably priced.”

, United Kingdom

“A very comfortable hotel in a good position. Fantastic breakfast with homemade beans and bubble and squeak as well as fresh orange juice. Also very dog friendly. The dog loved her bed. We will definitely stay again. Parking was no problem and virtually as close as a hotel car park would be.”

, United Kingdom

“It was well designed, clean, room was big. Loved the restaurant.”

, USA

“Fantastic food. A really excellent hotel in North Dorset.”

, United Kingdom

“Excellent bedroom, very clean, bed comfy. A good choice for breakfast. Very friendly efficient staff, but not over the top. The hotel was warm, relaxing and very comfortable.”

, United Kingdom

“Breakfast great and bed comfy. Room dark and needed more lighting”

, United Kingdom

“The food - dinner and breakfast - were excellent, and I liked the bar and overall decor very much. I always prefer a hotel in a historic building to a modern one. Shaftesbury itself is a lovely little town to visit. I had an upgrade to what must have been one of the largest rooms in the hotel which I thought was a very nice gesture and the sort of thing that makes you want to go back.”

, United Kingdom

“I did feel that the room for the price was not as luxury as one expected. Firstly on the website the room I booked had a chaise lounge in, I was given a very wobbly tatty leather chair. The curtains were badly hung and the blind was broken. On a positive note, the mattress was very firm and the pillows were lovely.”
