“The bed was comfy, the room pleasant and everything spotlessly clean”
“The Grasshopper inn is a stunning Tudor building and is breathtakingly beautiful inside, the room was beautiful and the breakfast was delicious, it was worth every penny! I would definitely stay there again!”
“Steven and his staff were very accommodating and helpful in organising a wedding and the following dinner and dancing. Food in the restaurant, and as provided for the wedding reception, was excellent!”
“The history, the people. We had the best room, the Honeymoon Suite, spacious, separate lounge area, modern bathroom/shower. The center piece was the old fashion claw foot copper bath in the main room/bedroom. Fantastic. The staff were great, very friendly and very helpful especially the manager whom we were very impressed with. He was excellent in his management with the staff and ran the place very smoothly and a great sense of humor. He made the place very welcoming. The menu on offer at the restaurant was pretty good too. A bonus on our last day was the craft fair held at the Inn which we made use of and purchased a few items to take home. ”
“A wonderful gem full of charm and character, and extremely family friendly! We booked it as we are currently walking the North Downs Way and thought it would make a great stopover. It fared beyond our expectations and we might even come back for the pleasure of staying there. Truly magical.”
“Staff all very friendly and efficient. Lovely food in the restaurant.”
“This was the most expensive stay I have had (£125 single person but booked a double room) and was worst stay ever. NOT as advertised. The 'Howard room' sounded like a theme room but no sign of 'history' connection. It was a very very small pokey room with very small window (17 ins wide), freezing room, bulb blown in bathroom, bathroom towel rail not work. disgustingly dirty under-pillow slips, edge of bed to wall = 14 ins so bruises all over my leg, NO wardrobe just a hanging rail (no good for female dresses). TV measured 22 x 11 inches (need binoculars!) and no DVD as advertised. No information available about history of building. Had fish and chips in restaurant...greasy batter and chips which looked warmed up. All in all a disaster stay. I advise people to look at room BEFORE PAYING.”
“The staff were friendly and very helpful. The room was comfortable and clean”
“hotel is a beautifully restored Tudor building, as soon as you walk in you are welcomed with a real open fire in a stunning bar lounge area. The rooms are themed Tudor suites that are clean and comfortable with coffee and tea making facilities. The restaurant is spacious and regal with original Tudor panelling. The breakfast is hearty for those without specialist dietary needs. I would definitely stay there again.”
“Tons of character and charm. The staff was super fun and engaging. The food was outstanding. The accommodations were lovely vey old building but modern bathroom (bath tub large..and clean)and neat furnishings. They had acoustic music one night which was great. This is a unique place and would recommend to everyone.”
