It reminded me of many hotel/bar/restaurants I have stayed in in France, where there are always people having a drink or coffee or indeed a meal, although there is a separate dining room. It feels very welcoming and comfortable and is always open. The food was excellent too. And a large covered area outside plus beer garden.”

“The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Although the hotel is a bit rambling (commensurate with its age) my room (Room 1) was very modern and well appointed - lovely shower, comfortable bed and Sky TV. Service at breakfast was very efficient and the choice of foods on offer made for a very good breakfast. Lastly, the price seemed very reasonable in comparison with other hotels in the area around Steyning.”
