“Everyone was extremely friendly and accommodating. The bed was very comfortable and the views over the estuary are excellent. Food is very good and substantial with large portions for both Breakfast and dinner. The Anchor is a typical old country pub/hotel with no frills or pretentions but well located for Bird watching, Fishing, Walking and general enjoyment of the surrounding area which is very beautiful and an often overlooked part of Scotland. This area is a very strong contender for being an alternative to The English Lake District just across the water with its crowded roads and excessively overpriced parking charges etc.”

“Beautiful view from our top floor room.....a corner room with 2 windows. It was very warm and comfortable with a very comfy bed. The breakfast was huge and freshly cooked...lasted us all day . The bar had a fire....very cosy. Food was good.”
