“I have stayed several times before at the 1661, a top-notch facility with a wonderful friendly staff. I have always been perfectly satisfied. The inn is on the pricey side, but as we all know, you get what you pay for. This inn has a perfect balance of the old-fashioned nostalgic (I stayed in the Nicholas Ball Cottage, which is a replica of the Episcopal church that was destroyed in the 1938 hurricane and named after a Victorian-era original island innkeeper) and the modern amenities we now expect (awesome shower and hot tub!). I have stayed in many of the island's inns, preferring inn-hopping for variety for many years, but this property is definitely 'the keeper.'”
