The house and gardens are lovely and there are many walking paths to explore as well as it is possible to boat on and swim in the lake though I did not get a chance. When it is cool a fire is built in the fireplace of the room where drinks are served. Waking to the sound of lambs grazing on the meadow by the lake is such a tranquil experience.”

“Loved that the integrity of the character of the house has been maintained. Roderick is a great host. Meeting other guests at pre dinner drinks and chatting with them over dinner was most enjoyable. Grounds are beautifully maintained without being too elaborate. House is true to its identity, all the trappings of a manor house but not too opulent or ostentatious. Very tasteful restoration.”

“The view of sheep grazing near the ruins and lake from my window. Original furniture and family portrait gallery. History of house is provided in each room. The host is warm hearted exceptionally well mannered and has a good sense of humor. It is a fine "to the manor born " experience. Authentic. The noble house has remained in the family for generations.”
