What guests loved the most

“It's easy to get to the hotel from the train station, price is very affordable and certainly you get more than what you pay for! The stay is very homey, spacious compared to most hotels I've been in Japan and very modern which makes you enjoy the stay more. The staff here made me and my partner enjoy our stay even more. They were really friendly and VERY informative also very bubbly and happy which makes us want to choose this hotel next time we plan to come back to Kyoto. Remember to try the rice balls they give you! They were real yummy :)”

, Australia

“All the floors are based on different colour themes and so are the rooms!! It was so good to see all the facilities included in such a comfort of the cosy room. A good number of temples and monuments were in close vicinity of the apartment. The cycling facility was excellent.. Took an evening ride though a small one, but enjoyed it!! Loved the ambience as a whole.. The facility to make your own key card with places you visit was excellent...”

“Amazing Japanese style hotel. Recently opened in July 2017. Pale wooden floors with tatami mats, a low table and cushions instead of seats. If you're young at heart and open to new experiences, you would enjoy this hotel. Small kitchen in room, with ingredients to make rice balls, as well as tea and coffee. Hotel also hired electric bikes for 2,000 yen per day. We hired these for a day, and whizzing round the city on them was a highlight of our holiday. Very friendly staff, who did all they could to help us.”

, New Zealand

“Clean and comfortable. Room was spacious and had everything you would need for the stay.”

, USA

“Loved the kitchen, beds, Japanese style room and table, and friendly and helpful staff. Recommendations abounded with regard to where to eat and explore. The location was close to a great deal.”

, USA

“Beds were so comfortable and the rooms were beautifully designed with furniture and fittings and with luxury washi wallpaper. The area is very interesting with many lesser known shrines and temples.”

, France

“This hotel is a gem. It's five star rating is deserved. The entire hotel is centered around the five elements of yin-yang. Each of the five floors is a different element. The wallpaper in each room is individual to reflect certain elements. The facilities are ultra modern (e.g. water temperature is electronically controlled). The hotel has been opened for 3 months as of November 2017. Everything is clean and new. The room includes a full kitchen with a complimentary packet of rice and daily green tea, roasted tea, coffee, and bottled water. The yukata provided are high quality. I purchased 2 for 4000 yen each. The staff are extremely helpful. English is spoken well. The lobby has an electronic system for various areas of interest (e.g. food, shopping, sightseeing) A wonderful experience. I recommend it highly.”

, USA

“New hotel with many nice features and good beds. The washing machine and air conditioner were especially appreciated. Being able to cook a simple meal in the room was also a nice break from constantly eating out. ”

, Australia

“The staff were extremely helpful. The rooms were very comfortable. Little touches like leaving rice for breakfast every day was good. The room was spotlessly clean.”

, United Kingdom

“Loved the staff, super helpful and went out of their way to help us get to Zazen in the morning. Also, the rooms are really nice and spacious, especially after our previous stay. And we loved their electric bikes we could just rent from the hotel.”
