“Obviously the location, 7000 ft above sea level, is gorgeous. The check-in process of arriving at the base, dropping your bags, and having them later appear in your room is amazing. Especially since your carrying all your luggage plus ski gear. The staff we dealt with at check-in at the base and at the lodge were very friendly. Views were great and dining and drink options were more plentiful than you might expect being stuck on the side of a mountain. All the serving staff we dealt with were extremely friendly. The resort goes the extra mile in explaining that the altitude will cause dehydration, they provide a humidifier and also came around with bottled water ahead of bedtime.”
“We had a great time. We loved exploring Banff National Park and the Sunshine Mountain Lodge was beautiful. We are not big skiers so we enjoyed the scenery and really enjoyed the hiking opportunities around the park.”
“we were upgraded to a better room, the staff were very nice and always attending, they gave us free tickets to chairlifts which was nice. the room has a stunning fireplace. You get there by either a bus or a gondola. Wish we had checked in earlier to enjoy the area....”
“The trails which were around the property were very beautiful and had scenic views of the mountains and the 3 lakes (Rock Isle Lake,Larix Lake and Grizzly Lake). There were guided tours for the hotel guest. Also you can take a ski lift to the top of one of the mountains. The hotel breakfast was also very delicious.”
“The site location is so nice! You can start for hiking directly from the hotel. The sauna and bath tub is nice too.”
