“Convenient shuttle service to and from the train station. Check in was smooth and our room was up graded without asking. Hotel staff spoke reasonably well English and were friendly. Breakfast selections were very good - a large variety of Japanese and American menus. Room had a very panoramic view. The onsen bath was clean and relaxing.”
“Shimoda is a small town, on the Izu Peninsula, where Commodore Perry, in 1854, openedJapan to the outside world. Remarkably the shimoda Tokyo hotel opened our eyes up to a wonderful experience, an extraordinary view of the islands in the bay, tasty Japanese food for breakfast, and very helpful staff. The shuttle service to town was much appreciated. We echo General Macarthur's famous words when we say "We shall return" to the Shimoda Tokyu hotel!”

There were shuttle bus between the hotel and the Shimoda train station which was helpful to the hotel guests. The swimming pool was very nice too.
