“Shibu hotel was like a jump in the past: the facilities in the lobby at the ground floor were "lived". The place has such a nostalgic aura! The staff is lovely, they offered free shuttle bus service to to near train station as well as to the snow monkey park. The rooms are all renovated, very clean and spacious. We had a nice view of the torrent facing the hotel. Included in the price there is a key that gives you access to all 9 public baths in the town .. it was a very entertaining way of spending one evening, walking around the town old alleys in Yukata, and doing bath hopping in super hot springs!”

“AMAZING Japanese breakfast! The location is great (Shibu Onsen is lovely) and the staff was very nice. There are both private and public onsens that are great.”

“Staff were very friendly and the Japanese breakfast was lovely. Host was kind enough to pick us up and even drop us off the next morning at the station. Location exactly amongst all the onsens. Even free shuttle to the monkey park which is convenient so you don't need to catch the bus.”

“The drive from Tokyo to Shibu Hotel was the perfect weekend away during our business trip. The staff met us at the door and took care of us each step of the way, including providing boots and driving us to see the snow monkeys, providing the Japanese traditional robe and wooden sandals, and explaining the onsen (hot spring bath) so that we could experience the town like a local. The meals included at the hotel were delicious and an amazing way for us to experience local Japanese food and wine. The scenery, mountains, river, and quaint town were the perfect backdrop to our weekend. We felt very relaxed during our entire stay and couldn't have had a better trip!”

“Food was impressive and one of the dinner assistants spoke enough English to explain what everything was. The manager spoke excellent English and nothing was too much trouble. We were driven to the snow monkey park and collected when we were ready. They will collect you from the bus or station. We were driven back to the station and the driver even showed us how to work the ticket machine. Would stay here again.”

“A short story that might tells about the owner as well as the warm family:We decided to leave the hotel after skiing day.We ask to keep our laugage at hotel.When we found that we forgot some belongings-we ask the hotel to send all to train station-waited there.Some minutes before arriving-a private carstop the road and a man gets into the bus with some of our belongings.The owner himself brought all and enter into the bus asking if it is ours.He brought all our languages to train station.”
