“Sam's Bungalow is perfect place to start the Jungle Trek. Lying in the middle of the jungle, the hostel offers everything you need. The staff is very helpful and organizes everything you need during your stay in Bukit Lawang. We made an awesome jungle trek with the guys and had great time with the Orang-Utans. Besides the jungle trek, I can really recommend the restaurant at Sam's Bungalow - the curry and the pancakes were very delicious.”
“Lovely room with a really beautiful view, comfy bed with a mosquito net and deck with a hammock and chairs. There were quite steep stairs up to my room which was not a problem for me but may be for some, especially with bags. Nice bar with good food/drink. Helpful staff who organised my transfer and were always willing to answer questions. Western style flushing toilet was nice.”

“There is super nice whole wheat toast available for breakfast and lunch! Pipit and the other guys at the desk are always available for help or a chat. Moreover, Sam itself is really nice although he is not always at the accomodation. We also went on a tour via Sam's with our guide Anto, which is a really good (English speaking) guide!”

Best location in Bukit Lawang, you get the breeze and have a private spot in the river. Best food in Bukit Lawang, even people from other guesthouses were coming here to eatBest jungle tour. We saw 20 orangutans in the overnight trek, the food was amazing and the tents in the jungle very comfortable. We had a once in a lifetime experience.We booked for 2 nights and ended up staying 5 nights in total and we are already kissing this place. Stay here if you want to truly live the Jungle Dream.”
