“Very friendly staff! Bianca, the owner, did all she could to become our stay confortable! I was really impressed with the food, a healthy buffet with a nice selection of gluten free products.”

“Bianca, the owner, takes you under her wing and you feel like you have her undivided attention. The food is clean and excellent, 100% gluten free kitchen, and serves the best carrot cake and corn bread I've ever had. During meals Bianca translated for me and I felt included in the Portuguese conversations and part of the Brazil experience. The whole place is spotless, intimate, has a powerful healing garden space, and is a 5 minute walk to the Casa. Bianca even took us to John of God's birthday party and acted as our guide. Above all, her integrity and catalyst for transformation is present.”

“Mae de Deus is a simple, smaller Pousada. I found the facilities very comfortable and cozy and the room I stayed was clean, spacious and light. But the best thing about this place is the hostess, Bianca. She is very caring, warm and personable and it truly shows in the way she cares and interacts with people. From rides to/from airport, dietary needs, physical needs, to questions about the Casa procedures, etc., Bianca will be there to help you. Food is plentiful and delicious. Bianca and her staff cook the food with lots of love, care and thought. Some of the recipes are her own as she substitutes ingredients so they are gluten free. Bianca is a gem of a person and with her you will experience her Brazilian hospitality with lots of heart and soul. In her Pousada, you will find a Brazilian home to stay and she will take very good care of you!”

“Mae de Deus, or Mother of God, is a lovely smaller Pousada run by the gorgeous Bianca. Bianca makes you feel at home right away and is very personable and caring being a nurse. John of God Joao de Deus has been to this pousada personally and given guidance on how it should be set out, with what facilities to supply and the colour scheme, along with the new name. Bianca prepares good Brazilian home cooked foods and offered gluten free and sugar free options as well. Bianca also assisted me during times of recovery from my John of God ‘operation’ and I was very happy to stay here. I would recommend the experience if you are looking for something typically Brazilian and personable.”
