“This is an old hotel that has been renovated. They kept some of the old charm of the building but its bathrooms and beds are all updated. Lobby was nice with a large TV, couches and 2 fireplaces. Room was very comfortable but the windows were a little drafty, and since it's in Syracuse and we were there in November it was cold. The heater worked great. Free Breakfast and close to the SU campus. There is a small selection of beer / wine and soft drinks to buy in the lobby, but no bar.”

“We were at the end of the hall near the stairwell. The door slammed loudly all night. When I mentioned it at check out the receptionist just replied with - “yeah we get that complaint a lot.””
“The breakfast differs from day to day. One day there was a delicious quiche; the next, sausage gravy and biscuits. I don't eat that sort of thing, so it's nice to know there's steel-cut oatmeal available, along with the usual choice of cereals, fruit, and yogurt. The bed was extremely comfortable. Staff were helpful and cheerful. And I love the look and size of this little hotel. The lobby invites you in; it is reminiscent of the kind of space that used to characterize hotels in the days before Holiday Inn and Sheraton took over. People were expected to spend most of their time in a hotel down in the lobby. Now, of course, most folks shun the company of others and just watch television.”
