“Wonderful hotel in a castle. Great courtyard, delightful interior architecture with lots of cool little nooks. Breakfast was excellent, and the drink at the bar when we got in was excellent also. Lots of space for little kids to run around. In a very pleasant area of Zafra to walk around.”

“The Parador de Zafra is an old castle which has been modernised to a very high standard. As with all paradors that I've encountered, the rooms are spacious, well appointed, clean and comfortable. Ours had huge french windows which allowed lots of light into the room and could be opened for fresh air. There were bars outside the windows to provide security. Check-in was efficient.”

“The setting was superb and going up to the top of the castle through a corridor lined with photos of the building from the late 19th century was amazing. The courtyard for meals was perfect. It was like a step back in time as you could stroll from the historic parador and take the well signposted walking tour around all the other historical buildings easily. The squares are buzzing in the evening with bars offering good value tapas.”
