“The staff were very welcoming and helpful. The hotel itself is well presented, clean and modern. I would describe the rooms as smart and compact, rather than small, since an effort has been made to maximise space and use good quality materials and intelligent design. The bed was very comfortable. The location was excellent: very central, but quiet. within walking distance from the train station and the city centre. The continental breakfast was reasonablly priced in comparison with other buffet breakfasts (£9.50), and although it did not include a 'full English', they offered an interesting and thoughtul range of local products. Within two minutes, there are places open early for a cooked breakfast (e.g. Blakes, on corner of High Bridge). The Bar/ Brasserie 'Pleased to meet you', which is a few doors down is also excellent. I would definitely recommend this hotel, far superior to its competitors, like the Premier Inn, which looked a dive.”
