What guests loved the most

“Everything: location, staff, island... If you’re debating staying in Hiroshima and only visiting the island for the day, I recommend staying on the island, as you enjoy it without the throngs of day visitors. This hotel may not be on the waterfront, but it’s a great location and the staff are friendly, helpful and informative. we arrived at night on the second to last ferry; the hotel staff came to pick us up at the ferry (and dropped us off when we left), the hotel is within walking difference but who doesn’t appreciate a lift with luggage? The gentleman who welcomed us immediately gave us a map, showing us the main sites and insisting we should go for a walk while the night illuminations (Pagodas, O-Torii etc) were still on. We were so tired from our trip but he was so enthusiastic we gave in - and are very grateful for it! The room was spacious and clean. First experience with a tatami mat & futon as bed - surprisingly comfortable.”

, Netherlands

“Very Japanese: rooms, baths, attire, breakfast, overall service.”

, Japan

“Free transportation provided by the hotel from the ferry station and breakfast”

, Argentina

“The Japanese style room was very comfortable and there was a lot of space. Lovely view over the town up to the floating torii.”

, Italy

“If you want to experience a real Japanese Ryokan, this hotel has everything you need. I would recommend to book the breakfast, because it is amazing!”

, Austria

“Request breakfast and dinner at the hotel. You will NOT be dissapointed. It is a little expensive, but most restaurants on Miyajima close at 17:00. And you will be treated a superb experience (I lack words that matches my experience). Google Kaiseki and see what you can expect. 2 or maximum 3 nights is enough to see the Island.”

, Denmark

“- Big and comfy room, we did enjoy the Momiji Manjyu hotel provided for us (Famous Japanese traditional sweets of Miyajima) and hot tea - Walking distance to ferry station and all the other attractions. We also ask hotel staffs to drive us there on the way back - At night the restaurant in the Miyajima are mostly closed and hotel staff made the map showing those that are closing late and gave to us :)”

, Thailand

“This is a fantastic hotel. We stayed in an authentic Japanese style room, with tatami mat floors and futons for beds. Each day they came in to the room and moved away the futons so we had the space to use during the day. Great view from our window looking out to the water. The hotel staff are incredibly nice. Always there to help!”

, Australia

“Beautiful Japanese-style room which was very comfortable to stay in. Hotel staff were very friendly, and we had a fun, relaxing stay. Location is also excellent - easy to find, and within walking distance to the ferry, Itsukushima shrine, and the main shopping and restaurant area.”

, United Kingdom

“Traditional Ryokan. Staff friendly and attentive. Rooms large and comfortable. Futon comfortable. The island itself is amazing. Tons of great restaurants nearby. So much to see and do on such a small island. Hikes to the various sightseeing spots well worth the effort.”
