The staff were exceptionally friendly and efficient and the room was very comfortable, with everything you could need for a stay including helpful local information, maps and even torch and compass for the intrepid walker. “All the rooms have been refurbished since our last stay 10 years ago and have been tastefully done and are very comfortable. The food was excellent with the starter and main courses having a wide selection including game dishes. The grouse wellington was delicious . Interesting sweets using local produce included raspberry bakewell tart and parkin with stewed rhubarb- an inspired combination.”
