“Very nice boutique hotel with ocean views set in a tranquil area, away from the main road. Plenty of surf spots around, surf board rental available in the property, and other activities such as yoga and ayurvedic massages.”
“All staff members were extremely friendly and helpful. We felt right at home straight away plus we had some delicious dinners (traditional curries and BBQ buffet inc locally caught fish) made in house by the chef. The top rooms have views of the ocean and the rooms are very spacious. Sunil the manager will organise day trips easily so no need to book in advance. And Lucky the local born and bred surf guide will show you all the working breaks. We can't wait to go back!”
“We loved the "homestay" feel of the villas. Exceptionally friendly and helpful staff - they organised everything from surf checks, transport, movies at night, chef that cooked what is fresh for the season (AMAZING CURRIES. The Sri Lankan breakfast is a must) and the property is perfect for families. Location perfect of surf/beaches. We will be back”
“I really enjoyed my stay at the Lion's Rest that was a good combination of sport (surf and yoga practiced daily), relax (the structure has common relaxing spots by the pool and on the top terrace) and good food! I suggest you to take the cooking class with the Chef, to learn more about Sri Lankan food. It's delicious :-) The staff took excellent care of me and strolled me all around by Tuk Tuk to show me all the beauty of Sri Lanka. A place to return.”
“Breakfast choice was amazing Staff was super friendly and helpful”
“Beautiful peaceful location right on the beach. Very friendly and helpful staff. Personal service, though this could be because the hotel was quiet. Basic menu but very well cooked. Chef adaptable with good English.”
“Friendly and helpfull staff. Surf spot for the experienced surfer just outside. Very good and professional surf instructor. Local and relaxed feeling :)”
