“Great Location, outstanding service, peaceful place.”
“it's a bloody Castle..~~~!!! beautiful property..impeccably maintained..spacious room.. plenty of comfort..three course meal for 23 Euros..!! most adequate breakfast for 10 Euros.. friendly staff..outstanding value..”
“Although from the outside the place looked a little run-down, inside everything was clean, newly painted and well cared for. The view of the garden is beautiful. The lovely fresh bread and cheeses at breakfast were a high light.”
“Fantastic chateau with history. Our room was spacious and had full height french windows overlooking the grounds, and a modern bathroom with very good shower. Very peaceful location in the forest, with plenty of parking. They allowed us to park inside the secure gates as we were in a classic (French) car, but parking outside on the forest road was very close and not a problem. Nearest town Paris St Germain en Laye was worth a visit - lots of restaurants, bars, chateau, park etc - but quite a walk. Easy drive into Paris, or REM from St Germain, though you have to pay for all day parking if you do take the train.”
“Very historic building frequented by Louis XIV, large room, decent breakfast can be eaten on terrace.”
“Menu de Jour good value for money Beautiful building and grounds”
“Wonderful accomodations. Great room and bed. Lovely park with grand trees. Very reasonable dinner on the terrasse. We really enjoyed our stay.”
“The (small) chateau is located a short distance outside Saint-Germain-en-Laye in a very quiet environment close to the forest. It is recommended not to follow your navigator, which might make you end you up at the wrong side of the road, but travel via Saint-Germain center. Access to the chateau via a code, and ample place to park your car outside close to the forest (not inside the chateau). The 2-person room was wonderfully located, quite spacious, very clean and with a view of the large garden. The breakfast was pleasant and comfortable. Dinner is not available during the weekend, when I visited, but there are ample opportunities in town, where you can easily park (keep right for the parking in the center). Those who plan to visit Paris can use the RAR, accessible from the 3rd lower level of the Station Parking (keep left).”
“I loved the two room suite. The spaciousness of the rooms, and the two toilets. The property was very peaceful and quiet. We loved the history behind this property!”
“Friendly staff and an interesting old property - an actual chateau with an interesting history. We were on bikes and although the staff were great and led us immediately to a garage to store our bikes, finding the chateau was actually quite difficult (from the Avenue Verte route). The room was really spacious though and comfortable once we were there. But then again the chateau is isolated so it wasn't possible to go out again without getting the bikes out and riding in the dark. So we were a bit trapped, but in comfortable circumstances! Honestly though if you are reading this and want somewhere to stay with your bike, choose somewhere more central in Maison Lafittes or St. Germain.”
