“There was a screen on the window to keep out insects. Rare amongst the places we stayed over the course of the week. Wonderful to open the window and have fresh air as the days were hot. Beautiful setting. Helpful, friendly staff. We arrived too late for dinner, but got directions to a fabulous restaurant up the mountain. Breakfast included many tasty and healthy options.”
“Place and the location is fantastic as well as staff Wireless was really good and building was like you travelled in different time”
“Great space to really get away and unwind. The internet connection was excellent and the plum jam at breakfast was the greatest I've ever tasted. The gardens are beautiful and the view from the room gorgeous.”
“Kloster Kappel was perfect for us. We wanted a place to stay for several days while we prepared for a concert. We looked for something that was between Zurich and Lucerne and that was quiet and isolated. Kloster Kappel fit our needs perfectly.”
“breakfast: limit choices, but very high quality and good taste. very nice and quiet location. very scenic drive towards the hotel friendly staff.. 'Oh, you are a tall person.. I will give you a bigger room. will be easier there to put the beds together for your comfort.' much nicer location compared to the 'official' brand business hotels. If I am in the neighborhood again, I will come back for sure. Need to have sufficient time to walk around in the vicinity to enjoy the area more.”
“quiet location, very clean, correct staff, special unique atmosphere ( monastery). Parking out front ( free). Good WiFi.”
“Very nice position and closed to a precious Cistercian abbey: Mens sana in corpore sano!”
“Special facility, surely you 'll remember the place”
“Great value for Switzerland. Not far from Zug where we were visiting friends. You do need a car since it takes about 10 minutes or so to drive into Zug. The rooms and bath rooms were immaculate. The setting is beautiful. We were traveling with our 18 year old son and we got a room with normal beds for 3 people.”
“The initial impressions - at Reception - were excellent. Astrid made us not only feel very welcome but took time to explain everything, despite the late hour. And then reserved us a table at a nearby restaurant. Very nice welcome. Despite staying in what I assume were originally individual monastery cells, the modern amenities were great, the shower was like a luxury hotel. I would equate it to Spain's Paradores - old, converted place, but with modern facilities. WiFi was excellent. The bed was the most comfortable I have slept in, in a long time. A really nice, quiet and comfortable place. It could not get a 10 because of the location - it's in the country, separated from towns; pretty much what one would expect of an ex-monastery/nunnery.”
