“The unshaven man who we assumed to be the owner greeted us in chefs whites and took us to our room. The first night we ate in main restaurant of the hotel called La Tavola. The owner/chef and his son were in the kitchen. We elected to have the six course tasting menu at €70 per person plus the accompanying wine selection at €35 per person. Well, that was one of the finest meals we are ever likely to eat. Wonderful inventive food beautifully presented and married to some excellent wine choices. Why this team do not have a Michelin star is baffling.”
