“This is an extrordinary property. The rooms are magnificent with views over rolling hills, the vneyards in the valley, and the mountains due north. Ask for a western facing room. The restaurant is excellent and, the next closest restaurants are 15 minutes by car on the notoriously difficult piedemonte roads so, it is smart to stay put. The staff was great and plentiful. They say the bar has a limited menu but only in the sense that it is not a One star spot. We had a lovely lunch and would have had dinner there, if we didnt have previous plans. I wish theybhad an atm machine on site as the closest one is 15 minutes so load up before you arrive or when you are out on day excursions.”

“The breakfast choice was very wide and varied (salmon, tomatoes and buffalo cheese, pastries, a choice of cheeses, muesli, fruit and so on). The El REI one star Michelin restaurant was very good, reasonably priced for the quality, beautiful terrace view of the surrounding hills and vineyards, excellent service personnel and a number of pre starters and pre desserts that made the meal very attractive) The hotel is isolated so quiet and calm on a hill so a little cooler than the nearby town of Alba.”
