“We returned after 19 years, and the experience was as great as the first time. This is a beautiful hotel, very traditional (a bit outdated, but very clean and comfortable). Since it is far from Orvieto it is necessary to have a car, but don't worry because they offer lots of parking at site and the old city town has sufficient public parking spaces. We even got twice a great spot right behind the Duomo. Food at the restaurant is very good, although not as refined as when we were there the first time.”
“Lovely setting, pool and excellent generous breakfast.”
“Lovely old villa with beautiful outdoor setting for dining al fresco. Our family room was large and comfortable. Everything felt clean and well kept.”
“Beautiful historical building and the room was very big and comfortable.”
“Beautiful villa and wonderful pool. Restaurant was very good (although service was quite slow on Saturday night as they were busy). Couple minutes drive to free funicular parking - great way to visit Orvieto!”
“Orvieto was over 40 degrees in the shade – coming down from the hill this lovely old villa, sitting between two rivers, surrounded by gardens, provided welcome relief – its massive structure remaining cool and the beautiful pool providing relief to the weary travellers. One evening we ate in the restaurant – the tables were laid out in the garden and the food was excellent.”
“Staff was above and beyond helpful! Restaurant amazing. Setting beautiful.”
“The place is well located in a calm area. The hotel is authentic and charming. Large swimming pool and good restaurant within the property. We thought the hotel was generally very good value for money in our case, surpassing our expectations.”
“We loved our visit to Orvieto and felt that having a pool in which to soak for the hottest part of the day was a huge perk of staying at Villa Ciconia. We had a triple room that was very spacious and the a/c worked well. The bathroom appeared to be recently renovated and accommodated the three of us very well. We did not rent a car, but opted to use taxis to/from Orvieto. The taxi service was always quick to pick us up, but the prices varied from 12-20 euro depending on who picked us up each time.”
“Very helpful staff. Beautiful building and setting. Good reataurant.”
