The hotel was in an ideal location in Malcesine although the town is not the easiest place to reach by public transport from the airport (we flew to Malpensa). The transport was comfortable enough and connections were fine but the time it took to get there was quite long. We took 2 trains and a bus but if you don't mind driving in Italy then a hired car is probably the best option.”

“Staff and proprietor polite, always most helpful and spoke English and German well. Bedroom comfortable, very quiet and had lovely scenic views over Lake and mountains. Evening meals were delicious and exceptional value. We ate out only once in the evening and realised we were better served by Hotel Vega and it's delightful staff. Ferry departure point, for visiting towns on Lake Garda, was only five minutes walk away. Always daytime activity on the Lake to watch from balcony or hotel decking area and garden. There is a very pleasant walk along a lakeside promenade adjacent to Hotel Vega. A short walk, beyond the main shopping area, is the older part of Malcesine and the castle. One should not miss this area with its charm, atmosphere, bars and people watching.”
