“Wolfgang and Rosie were wonderful hosts. My wife and I were only there one night but want to return ASAP. The room was wonderful, the hosts were just great, warm, helpful, with Wolfgang even taking me in his car to the Spar Market to get a few things, far beyond the call of duty. I have been associated with the travel industry for more than 35 years and would put the Ur Wachau as one of the finest places we have stayed. The room was wonderful (there are only 5 rooms) but the overall ambiance is exceptional. Rosie is an accomplished chef and the town of Weisenkirchen is in a perfect location from which to see the Wachau Valley, taste wines, see everything from the Melk Abby, Krems, St. Michael, and the myriad of vineyards in the region. Also, it is only about 1 hour from Vienna and about 2 hours from Salzburg. Great location. Room was so comfortable, slept like rocks, and had a plentiful breakfast with eggs cooked to order. Can't say enough good things about it.”
“It is a beautiful modern hotel in a 600+ year old building. The rooms are huge, with confy beds. The owners are welcoming and great to chat to and in the evening, when their restaurant is open, even better chefs. And all this is topped off by a brilliant breakfast in the morning. Bottom-line, definitely a place I will be visiting again :)”
