“The hotel is clean, grand and spacious. Rooms are huge compared to that of city centre. The futon was very comfortable. There are 3 different hot springs in the hotel premises with different themes (European, outdoor and a main hot spring) so you can choose the one you like best. There were even souvenir shop and game centre in the hotel so you can basically spend the whole day there. Parking facility is available. The staff is very friendly and accommodating.”

“When we arrived at our "non smoking" hotel room, the walls were covered in stains, there was stains on the tatami mats and mould on the ceiling of the bathroom. Unacceptable for the amount I paid. I took photos and complained to the front desk, cleaners arrived at the room, but the stains were years old and weren't coming off. We were then given another cleaner, more satisfactory room. Overall, the experience was disappointing. The lobby had ripped lounges, the food at both breakfast and dinner was tasteless. The most underwhelming experience I've had in Japan. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone. Not sure how it has such high ratings on booking.com. I will be staying at other hotels in the future. ”
“Outdoor onsen. Tatami rooms were comfortable and well air-conditioned. Rooms were quiet. Good buffet for dinner and breakfast. Good location to Sounkyo Gorge and the waterfalls.”
“The food was great, especially the steak and snow crab. Breakfast was excellent and the croissants were perfection. We enjoyed the performance about Ainu natives, very informative and interesting about culture. There are 3 onsens, we only tried 9th floor and 4th floor. Both had excellent views and were well equipped. Decor in our wing is a bit dated but no big deal.”
