“Nice places close to metro station and Gion. The restaurant just close to the hotel (Horse and duck) was excellent. We were surprised with the free breakfast, it was very good.”

“The hotel is extremely central and thus easy to access. I came to see Gion Matsuri and the procession started 2 minutes from the hotel, it was very convenient. The hotel itself is a bit old and it shows in places, but the room was clean. I was surprised I had to prepare my futon myself but at least I had great freedom of movement. There are two public baths each for women and men. There were standard sento style, again a bit old, but okay. I just wish the using times were extended a bit. It wasn't the most glamour of hotels but it was convenient. I also got a special price so it was good value.”

“The size of the room was great. It was the room designed for the disabled ( two regular beds) people but as it was fitted with the bathtube I couldn't use it. However, I used the public shower which is in the hotel in the basement. So the problem was solved. The Staff is very kind and helpful. The hotel provides the ramp. I would like to come back there.”

“It is traditional japanese style room, it was clean and big enough. Location is not directly in the centre but you can go everywhere by walk.”

“Good location, close to the main road and about 10-15mins walk to the nearest train stations. I visited during the cherry blossom season and there were a few trees right outside the main doors! Surprise complimentary Kyoto-style Japanese breakfast in the mornings! Futons were laid out for us every day which is a real lifesaver at the end of a long tiring day (some places I've been to leave you to lay out your own futons). The 2 available public baths were clean and comfy.”

“convenient location, close to 2 Subway stations and several bus stops. several bars and restaurants within few blocks radius. walking distance to market area, Gion and other places. unexpected surprise - free breakfast in classical Japanese style. pure delight go start the day with. very friendly and welcoming staff, especially the ones serving the breakfast.”

“The location of this hotel is the best its near to two subways and alot of places to visit near the hotel. The hotel itself is clean and very helpful, and if you like a traditional feel this hotel is the best way to go.”
