“A wonderful grand old lady, aptly named Splendid and one of the few hotels with lake frontage. We had a spacious room with a large balcony overlooking the lake and views of the Borromean islands. We left the door open at night so we could hear the water lapping. The hotel has some great facilities - an attractive outdoor terrace, a restaurant with an interesting menu (Risotto Milanese highly recommended), an artificial beach (and a very good public beach next door), a private boat landing, nice grounds and secure underground car parking. In all, its was terrific value for Lake Maggiore.”

“Excellent 'grand' hotel on lake side close to small town, 10-minute stroll to good selection of restaurants. Hotel staff are fantastic & very friendly / helpful. We arrived late & left early, but love the over-the-top terrace area for (several) late night drinks al fresco. Previous year we had a lakeside room with amazing view of sunrise, will go again if in the area.”
