“Nice location for watching northern lights and when going to Jokulsarlon glacier lagoon. Breakfast nice.”
“Northern lights wake up. Friendly staff and it was very homey.”
“Clean and comfortable. The food in the restaurant was lovely, although expensive (like everywhere else in Iceland). The hotel offers a wake-up service if the Northern Lights are visible during the night. Very close to Skaftafell National Park where we were going for a glacier tour so the location was perfect for us. Not much else in the area.”
“Great location right by the glacier and across from a manned gas station and restaurant. Comfortable room and shower. Good size room.”
“Helpful and friendly staff. Well located in a fairly sparse area. The rooms were basic but comfortable. The staff were very helpful, and when the hot water didn't work in our room they immediately moved us to a larger room with working hot water. The breakfast was good and had a diverse mix of options, although all cold - nothing hot/freshly cooked.”
“We stayed two nights. Pickings seem to be slim in this area, both for hotels and dining. We were happy with the location - very close to Vatnajokull Nat'l Park and also an easy drive to the Glacier Lagoon and Diamond Beach. The room was decently sized with comfortable beds. Breakfast was filling with enough options. We ate dinner in the restaurant our second night and was one of the top two meals of our week in Iceland. Helpful, kind staff. We were able to see the Northern Lights our second night!!”
“The breakfast was really good, with a great choice of foods”
“We really liked that the desk would call our room should the northern lights appear! We weren't lucky to see them but we were about 4 minutes drive to the National Park and took a 5 hr glacier tour hike which was really cool. The staff at the hotel was great! The rooms were very clean. The food was good too.”
“Great location, very good breakfast and happy hour from 4-6pm!”
“Room was a decent size and the person on the reception (I think she was the owner) was very friendly and helpful (amazing English as everyone in Iceland seems to have. Good breakfast spread too.”
