“There was plenty to eat at breakfast so you’ll not go hungry but I found the quality of some of the cheeses and cold meats was perhaps not the best (plastic, rather tasteless cheese and non-descript cold meats) and when I was there there was no blue cheese on offer. However, there was a variety of fresh rolls and fresh bread, cooked eggs and bacon, make your own waffles (be careful, that’s oil for the waffle maker, not maple syrup!) and toast, various typically German spreads (eg Fleischsalat), preserves and fresh fruit salad. There may not be everything that you want but there is enough. Our room (No 22) was up narrow, steep stairs and had not been renovated but it was nonetheless comfortable and very quiet as it was at the back of the hotel. When you make a booking be very careful, though, and read the confirmation concerning your room - these stairs are not suitable for disabled, unfit and very obese (the stairs are very narrow).”
“This was a 500 year old building. Absolutely charming. Perfectly located. Loved the atmosphere. Room was quite good and interesting as it had a door about chin tall (other rooms appeared to have standard height doors). Breakfast was very good with lots of options. Parking is limited so make sure you book ahead. Luneburg is gorgeous wish we had more time.”
