The hotel reopened officially as the Hotel Rialto in June 2009. Mr. Danzo, being a perfectionist, decided that the hotel was not finished to his satisfaction so in January of 2012, he again shut down the hotel for further improvements. He has assured us that the project is now complete as of the reopening in July 2012.Mr. Danzo immigrated to Canada from the Veneto region of northern Italy in 1956. “Welcome cheese tray was awesome................tapa bar was great............front desk people were exceptional..................”
“Bed linens were high quality and very comfortable. The room was laid out well and had good navigation space. Staff was very helpful, knowledgeable and friendly. They were vigilant and made sure everything was right. Breakfast in the restaurant was very convenient and good as well. Lots of good restaurants within walking distance, safe feeling in the neighborhood.”
“Room was neat and clean, bed was comfy, heated floors in the bathroom and bathrobes were a nice touch. Overall, we had a pleasant two-night stay.”
“location and friendly staff”
“Overall convenience in terms of location to sites we wished to explore; friendliness of staff and their willingness to assist; breakfast was very good with wide array of choices and excellent value. Lounge was excellent place for cocktails and gatherings. Our room was spacious (we had a corner room) and bright. Very comfortable.”
“Valet parking was a must; otherwise nowhere to park. I had left boots in car and they went to the car for us, twice, to retrieve what we needed! Great staff; very clean and well appointed rooms and general spaces. Very small room, more European style, but we had everything we needed and more. Heated bathroom floor was a plus!”
“Small hotel. Conveniently located near Government Street and shops. Clean, comfortable bed, quiet, good room temperature, bath tub was a plus for me, and loved the heated tile floor in the bathroom. Really good lighting (especially important in the bathroom). Helpful, friendly staff. Liked the "Go Green" option of no room cleaning in exchange for a $10 credit per night to be used in their cafe.”
“Great central location that is walking distance to everything we wanted to see, friendly staff, comfortable rooms, Veneto lounge downstairs was very nice for a pre-dinner cocktail.”
“Very comfortable and clean room. Excellent location.”
“Friendly and accommodating staff. The cheese plate was yummy and their tea was so tasty! We were at a workshop so we had to leave our luggage until the end of the day. When we returned, they had the car ready and our luggage was loaded for us. That was above and beyond and very unexpected. Thank you for that!”
