“All of it, form the warm welcome we received from the owners, who could not do enough to make your stay the best. They are aware there is not much choice of restaurant's in the village but they will give excellent recommendations and ordered us a taxi to the next town which has more choice. The hotel is beautiful. The region is beautiful. We travelled by motorbike and the sierra de la Demanda is a beautiful area to ride round. Javier organised a booking at Suso and Yuso monasteries which were well worth the visit.”
“Friendly owners and good recommendation for wine tour and lunch time restaurant. Lovely accommodation and very good breakfast.”
“Beautiful place, lovely people set in a gorgeous location in Rioja. Simply charming. 10 out of 10.”
“Absolutely beautiful! Our hosts were so friendly and treated us like family.”
“The hotel is exquisitely appointed. The owners are very nice and only too happy to do anything g they can for you. The room was beautiful. The outside patio and grounds were beautiful. The breakfast was delicious.”
“High quality hotel. Very friendly staff. Quiet location. Good breakfast.”
“The staff were outstanding. Ascencion made it feel like we were at home. The breakfast was amazing, and the views were second to none.”
“Gorgeous generous couple who made our stay comfortable, easy and wanting to stay longer.”
“Pura Vida is a beautiful, well designed and modern hotel. We had room 21 which was very spacious with a gorgeous 4 poster bed. Breakfast was delicious and offered a selection of local Spanish meats, fresh pastries and bread and condiments. The hotel is in Valganon which is a quiet town in La Rioja but only 30 mins drive from Haro, one of the main Rioja wine regions of Spain. The owners of the hotel (I can't remember their names) are very hospitable and went out of their way to find us a bodega with availability on a wine tour as well as offering advice on local places to eat. I highly recommend this hotel.”
“We loved the Pura Vida. We got a wonderful welcome from the lovely, bubbly Ascen who looked after us with her ever-helpful husband Javier for a very happy six nights. The hotel is a very imaginative and stylish conversion of an old town house in the centre of the small village of Valganon. Everything is state of the art and up-to-date; indeed the interior is high art. Our very comfortable room with its two-metre-wide bed had lovely views over the beautiful garden to the mountains beyond. The bathroom had one of the best showers we have ever had. Breakfasts were a dream with beautifully presented dishes, freshly pressed orange juice and bread baked each morning by Ascen. A real gem of a hotel!”
