“We thoroughly enjoyed our 2 day stay at the lovely homely Hotel Panorama and would gladly have stayed longer. Yes it it located at the top of a very steep driveway, but the view from the top that you can enjoy from your room, verandah, pool and dining room is totally worth it. We were happy to walk (3 mins to main Rd, 5 to beach) but the hotel tuktuk will shoot down to pick you up from the bottom of the driveway in less than a minute. Fabulous generous breakfast, lovely clean pool, and comfortable rooms with many thoughtful touches that we did not see elsewhere in Srilanka at this price point such as umbrella, mozzie coils, clothes drying rack, reading lights on bed head, comfy chairs in balcony, pool towels. We left at 6am to catch the early train and the very helpful manager offered to arrange a packed breakfast of great egg and cheese sandwiches. Loads of good restaurants and cafes in easy walking distance, and Galle easily accessible for a 10 minute, 400 rupee tuk tuk ride.”
