“nice and quiet place...staff are friendly and helpful”
“It is in a mountain area right next to a river, which is beautiful and quiet. Although remote, the hotel got all basic necessities. It is close to the World Heritage hiking trail Kumano Kodo. We took this trail (well marked and safe) from Koyasan town and walked about 16km to the hotel. We walked slowly and took 6 hours. There is a phone booth at the end of the trail that you can call the hotel for pick-up. Staff speaks good English”
“It's an onsen hotel over a river! What more can I say. The onsen has even a view on the river. The meals were delicious and abundant. We were amazed. Indeed we had amago, the small river salmon fished in the river below the onsen. I mean how cool is that! They even wrote down the ingredients of the dessert in English for us. They had a room for the dinner and a separate location for breakfast. Our room was very spacious, had a fridge, a hot water thermos with hot water ready for us, tea and a small sweet, yukata, private bathroom, beautiful view on the river, a closed balcony if you wanted to smoke... It was just great!! We were tired from walking the Kumano Kodo and so happy to relax at Nosegawa. Also the hotel has a small shop for local products, sweets and other necessities.”
“My friend and I had hiked into the small town that's hotel nosegawa is in. The staff was extremely helpful in meeting our needs to leave early and sent us off with two bento boxes (for breakfast and lunch!) the food was excellent at the hotel. Overall a great experience!”
