“I had high hopes of this hotel having read that Forte Dei Marmi was the resort of choice for affluent Italians.How wrong can you be? The town has seen better days and so has the hotel. It brought to mind hotels I stayed in as a child fifty years ago. The decor was more than tired. The reception area is full of mis-matched armchairs, complete with an elderly lady watching television. The pool area could be lovely but the green hue on the tiles and steps is a complete turn off. The hotel is clean but it could be so much more professional. Being greeted by a young man in torn denim jeans does not give a good impression. We moved on from this hotel to one in Alassio where the staff were immaculately turned out. Appearances are important. The restaurant was a vast echoing room where we were offered a limited menu-verbally. The food was alright, but expensive for what it was. As I said, I expected better. In conclusion, the hotel has seen better days and is desperately in need of investment.”
“Lovely family-run hotel, now in its 50th year. The infrastructure is a bit tired and could do with an update but this negative is offset by the staff being very nice, the food super yummy and generally things being made simple for the client.”
