“Hotel Matina was one of those lucky picks for us. We booked the day before based on pictures and a good review. On request we were picked up from the ferry by a friendly driver. The hotel itself is a peaceful place with it's pool area shielded from the road by trees and a wall. This quite a contrast from the seaside hotels which mostly have their pool area directly next to the busy boulevard. This makes the 5 minute walk to the beach absolutely worth it.The best thing about the hotel is its extremely friendly staff who make you feel welcome instantly. We got useful tips about tours and daytrips as well as restaurants. The rooms are simple but comfortable and a good distance away from the road. All in all, I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Santorini.”
