“Stella and her staff made us feel very welcome. Stella shared the history of the property as well as how she ended up purchasing it. We also enjoyed the animals; the two dogs, parrot, two Arctic fox and many horses. The breakfast buffet was the largest and best of all the inns we stayed at during our two weeks in Iceland.”
“We were pleasantly surprised to get breakfast included, even though Booking.com and the hotel website said it wasn't included. With no close by places for meals, this was very much appreciated. Our private bathroom was great, and the fjord view worthwhile (though a bit disappointing the parking area was in the way).”
“Excellent filled croissants. Comfortable largish room. Perfect range of good music playing during meals. Sweet fun dog on premises. Good to chat with owner at breakfast.”
“Carl, the owner, could not have been more helpful and friendly. The hotel is very remote with gorgeous fjord views. Dinner was a set menu but everything was delicious! Breakfast was also extremely good.”
“We enjoyed the staff, the landscape, the bed and pillows.”
“Very comfortable, large room for three people. Beautiful, updated bathroom. Lovely view of the fjord and mountains. Owner was friendly and very helpful about best times to see the puffins. Best breakfast we've had in Iceland.”
“Quirky, old fashioned dining room. Hospitable staff.”
“The room was lovely and big. Lots of space to put cases etc. I loved the dog Ms Alba. She was just fantastic, I was missing my hairy hound so it was really nice to have some doggie cuddles. (For those humans who are not dog friendly fear not, Ms Alba is very well behaved and the owners will keep her away from you if you wish). The family run business is great as they are happy to chat to you about Iceland and the area. Don't judge this book by it's cover, the building is an old school conversion, the inside has had a lot of work done and the rooms and bathrooms are fantastic.”
“The room was charming and had a magnificent view. Short drive to see the puffins. Host was very friendly and made a great breakfast.”
“Loved the warm and enthusiastic greeting of their Public Relations manager Ms Alba (dog) she is just fabulous (if you're not a dog person don't panic, she is very obedient and will be kept away from you if you wish). The other staff members (family run) are great and happy to chat and share information. The hotel is a converted school and community hall, you can tell that a lot of money has been spent on it inside and they have done a great job. Breakfast is the standard continental selection of cereal, bread, cheese and cold meats. Plus tea and coffee of course. There is the option of a set menu for dinner if you wish, the menu and cost is found on the blackboard at reception. Being in this area is like being on Mars for a couple of days, zero nothing nanada. It is enforced relaxation.”
