“Carme and Carles our hosts were both so welcoming and made us feel like part of their family. Carme is a wonderful cook....both breakfast and dinner were excellent. Thanks to Carles we now know how to make pan amb tomaquet! The property is just inside the city walls with parking very close by just outside the walls. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Montblanc and our stay at Hotel Fonda Cal Blasi.”

“Like? Hardly the right word! For me there could have been no better place and no better feeling of welcome and belonging. As a reserved resident of Yorkshire I was moved to a farewell hug of thanks to Carlos. I am so glad that I took the recommendation of having the home cooked evening meal; somewhat better than a family tea but definitely underpinned by the warmth of the home. Despite some of the rustic nature of the rooms it was also extremely clean.”

“Authentic Catalun meals. Had dinner at the restaurant and was not sorry. Host enjoys telling about Catalunya and has some philosophical insights into the value of hard work. Placa Mayor is a delight - this town retains a lot of Spanish Authenticity which others have lost.”

“Our hosts were marvellous and nothing was too much trouble for them . Carles is a most entertaining host and will gladly explain in detail about the food and wine they serve in their beautiful hotel . Carles lovely wife 'The Boss' according to Carles really does prepare beautiful rustic dishes with the majority of produce home grown . Great location set inside the walls of this Medieval town which , in itself , is also a delight . We loved our time here and had some great experiences and have some wonderful memories .”

“Location was excellent. Food was excellent; fresh, healthy, local, & delicious. Do arrange to have dinner at the "hotel"; it is a wonderful experience: the duck was amazing & the hand cut potatoes (french fries) were twice fried in primo Spanish olive oil!! The owners treat you like family and go out of their way to make you feel at home & help with any requests. Montblanc is a real gem of a medieval walled city.”
