“Tranquil place just outside the walls to the old town. In terms of location it is just 5 minutes into the center so fine to walk back. You wouldn't notice the hotel from the outside but inside it is unique, boutique, arty house - very relaxing and quiet. The breakfast was the best we had in Colombia in hotels. The staff were so lovely - super friendly and I didn't want to leave. Smiling all the time and fantastic cooks. Don't be put off by any negative reviews - we had an amazing time staying there and it gave us a great base for Cartagena at the end of the trip (we stayed in the hotel for 4 nights). It isn't swanky or modern but if you are looking for something with character this is the place. Our room was clean, spacious and quiet at night time. We were gutted to leave and would definitely return.”
“Nice room under the roof, spacious, quiet with all commodities. Inside garden and quietness make this place great to disconnect. Very nice staff and management, allways there to help and assist. Not far from historical city and fortifications, so no need to take a cab.”
“We lived the plants and atmosphere and location. As a gay couple in a catholic country we felt very welcome”
“Good and rich Breakfast in wonderful garden setting, very large rooms with very, very wide bed. Also very nice host. Just 5 minutes walk from historical center.”
“Great staff. They gave me good recommendations for traveling to the islands and helped me book a night there. The breakfast is absolutely delicious and healthy. I spent Christmas Eve there, and the owner invited a string quarter and a pianist. Beautiful evening! I loved staying there and will stay at this place whenever I get another chance to visit Cartagena.”
“This is great choice for anyone looking for R&R as well as a base for exploring Cartagena. The garden is spacious and jungly with lots of different sitting areas, which means you hardly notice the other guests. All the staff are relaxed and friendly, keeping out of guests' way but there in a second if you need anything. The pool is a godsend in the fierce heat.”
“The best thing about the place is the lush garden and breakfast area. I was sold on that because it appeared very relaxing. Something you don't find in many hotels within the wall. Some of the staff are also very nice, especially the woman who made breakfast. Friendly and genuine. Also a couple of young men were also very friendly and helpful.”
“My wife and I were a little underwhelmed when we arrived but were soon won over by the friendliness of the staff, the location, the great breakfast and the coziness of the property. We had the (small) pool to ourselves. The walled city is a stone's throw away, as is the urban beach and a supermarket. We went to Playa Blanca on our last day and had to check out but because our flight home was late that night, the staff let us have a shower before heading to the airport, which was greatly appreciated. We will definitely return.”
“This house is in a great location, close to the city walls. The rooms are set round a beautifully lush garden. Our room was extremely comfortable, with efficient air- con and crisp cotton sheets. The delicious breakfast is served in the garden. This was such a tranquil place to stay. We loved the art, atntiques and beautiful furniture in the house and garden. A special thanks to the kind and gracious staff - Elmer, Davis and Mercedes.”
“The place is just amazing. A piece of heaven close to the city center. Super nice staff and great breakfast. Everything was perfect !”
