“The proprietors were very helpful and accommodating. We had a late flight and they let us keep our room until we needed to head out for the airport for a reasonable price. The hotel is beautiful, with large rooms and comfortable beds. The location is convenient for the historical center of Quito and for Calle La Ronda.”
“Great location in Quito historical center. Single room good size and very clean. Staff very friendly and will Help book tour excursions.”
“Super friendly receptionist as well as the rest of the staff. One of the best experience I have ever had in a hotel abroad. The location is fantastic, right in the middle of the historical town. Highly recommended if you visit Quito for a shorter period of time.”
“Great location right near Old Town (but the square in front of the hotel itself felt slightly sketchy at night). Beautiful hotel, easy and efficient arrival (we booked the hotel cab from the airport for $30), good breakfast in a kitchen area with incredible views of El Panecillo. The room was spacious, clean and served our needs. We truly enjoyed our stay, & would recommend Hostal Casa Montero if you prefer to stay near La Ronda & walking distance from all of the historical attractions.”
“Really friendly, accommodating service. Located close to the historic centre and right next to the 'La Ronda' area of bars and restaurants. And the view from the breakfast room...!”
“Great location! Beautifully restored colonial home. Friendly and helpful staff! Very easy to find for cab drivers and me when I went wandering off. Good breakfast. Eggs, fresh fruit salad, toast, juice and coffee.”
“This was the best place we stayed at in South America in this price range. Lovely large clean room, excellent helpful staff, so peaceful with a large courtyard to relax in the centre with complemptry tea and coffee. The breakfast room had a lovely view and the location had restaurants close handy. it was only a short walk to the city centre.”
“Located in Old Town. Hotel overlooked a square with San Domingo church. Festivities in square were going on when we arrived and staff were very kind offering us another room, We declined. Room was huge and contained two queen beds. Large wardrobe and modern ensuite. Loved how all the bedrooms doors open up to a landing overlooking reception area. Large yummy breakfast served in an indoor patio area with stunning views. Secure entrance with friendly staff. Roughly 5-10min walk to main plaza. This has been one of our favourite hotels on our South America trip.”
“Owner was in attendance regularly and very accommodating and helpful. Tips on where to walk and importantly not to walk. Lots of restaurants and bustling weekend nightlife literally around the corner. Great views from the breakfast room. Having read all the reviews of muggings etc, we were a little anxious at first, but once we found our way, we relaxed and thoroughly enjoyed our time in Quito. There are police everywhere in tourist areas. If you stand by the road you will see either a police motorbike or car every 30 seconds. The police in brown uniforms are there to help you and are very keen to do so. Their English is good and they are very reassuring. For around £40/night the hotel is excellent value for money.”
“Very clean and quiet. Excellent location in the old town near la Rhonda Would highly recommend”
