“It was so nice to receive a big warm hug from the elderly lady awaiting our arrival. She welcomed me and my husband with Greek coffee and a dish walnuts. Everything was pleasant about our stay. The people of this town are very friendly. ”

“Aristea is situated in the town village of Anogia - which in it self is pretty unique - as one of the highest situated villages in Crete. The scenic view from our balcony, overlooking the surrounding mountains is one of the most amazing that we have experienced in all our years traveling  Crete. This, combined with a feeling of closeness to nature and with a fresh cold wind - even though we traveled in the middle of July, together with the hospitality of the owners of Aristea, set the stage for our stay.Upon having decided which room to stay in, we were given a plate of homemade cake and they even took the time to talk with us and provide us with local insights for our mountain hike the next day. Aristea is perfectly situated as a base for hikers headed for Mt. Ida and/or the surrounding area, and it's also worth a visit if you want to experience a quite different and most beautiful side of Crete. We will be back! Best regards from Marie and Fredrik, Norway. ”

“Very nice welcome from the owner with homemade cake, ,coffe,cold water and fruit.Apartment is very comfortable with big terrace with beautyfull view on the mountains. Very clean. Owners help us with all informations and even took us with their car to the neighborou village. Thank you for everything”

“We were met by a very friendly older lady who I believe is one of the owners. Despite the language barrier she easily conveyed her delight that we had arrived. Later that night she even showed up at our door with a delicious rice pudding, still warm from the stove. The next morning she again arrived with a big smile and a lovely breakfast. We felt instantly at home and at ease. The apartment we stayed in was clean, large and lovely and had a large balcony/ deck with a view to eternity! If you want to find out how the real Greeks live in rural villages, visit this village and stay here. It will be unforgettable!”
