“An historic hotel with much of the original decor intact. The Vertex Skybar - excellent staff, drinks and food (recommend the buffalo tenderloin with mushrooms and onions). Great views over Rapid City and large open fires outside at night, very atmospheric and highly sociable.”
“The hotel is nicely renovated. The beds etc. very comfy. I always like Hiltons for the bedding. I liked the happy hour in the upper bar. I stayed away from the Irish bar, it was too loud and more like a sports bar. I wish there was more "old West " influence.”
“The hotel was adequate. The rooms had a smell and the AC was very noisy. There is no view and the choices of food or dessert on the roof top restaurant were VERY limited.It is the only place to stay when visiting Mount Rushmore but I was disappointed. Thank God for the Starbucks in the hotel. They were fantastic.”

“The hotel had an excellent location in the center of the historic downtown area. It's no more than a two block walk to at least five good restaurants. The hotel provides free parking in a garage that's two blocks away. The rooftop bar is pleasant. Too hot to sit out until evening and then fire pits when it gets cooler later.”
