What guests loved the most

“Wonderful family run accommodations in outstanding setting.”

, USA

“We really enjoyed our stay here and would definitely recommend it to others. It's a good location for visiting Ibarra, Otavalo and the beautiful surroundings (including the Tren de la Libertad), it might not be in the centre of town but it's easy and cheap to get taxis around. The setting is stunning, food very good, and our hosts both welcoming and very interesting. We will miss the bird show at breakfast!”

, United Kingdom

“the side walks around the property for a nice hiking and the view to see the train, a nice places to see the hummingbird drinking water and also you have the opportunity to do horse riding and feed the horses.”

, Ecuador

“The staff received us really warm and friendly. The facility is really nice, quite and beautiful. We had mechanical issues with our motorcycle and the staff has been very supportive and helpful.”

, Colombia

“Everything was wonderful. I am so glad we opted for Hostería Cananvalle. We had to spend many nights there as we looked for a house to rent and we felt right at home at the hotel. Doreen and Carlos are amazing hosts and go to great lengths to ensure you are enjoying your stay. Doreen was also kind and flexible with us: Example - she reached out to us before we arrived and placed kitty litter in our room for our cat. When things got busy during a national holiday, they kept us updated on room availability and helped us manage our stay accordingly. I can write many many things about how wonderful this place is - definitely would stay there again.”

“The bed was super comfortable and the loft area was a cute little place for our kids. It was VERY clean. Fun to know the train schedule and see it go by. Great little trails to follow. Staff was friendly, helpful, and the breakfast was lovely.”

“We loved our stay at Hosteria Cananvalle! This was one of our favorite places of all those we tried in Ecuador. Doreen and Carlos, the owners, really made us feel welcome, and the grounds are beautiful! It is close enough to the city that a short taxi ride would get us into town for exploration, but we often chose to just relax here and enjoy the food they provided and the ambiance of the property. Hummingbirds swarming the flowering bushes just outside the windows of the dining area provided entertainment while dining, and the fragrance of the many flowering plants was especially appealing compared to the more populated city. Can't wait to share this treasure with friends and family.”

“Lodging, the farm, the surrounding Andes -- spectacular setting.”

“Wonderful location above a deep River valley in the countryside, but only 10 minutes from Ibarra. Very good food, especially breakfast, and knowledgeable, friendly owners.”

, Canada
